Neurodiversity as My Strength

As a person with autism, I bring a unique perspective to my practice, embracing my neurodivergence as a strength that enhances my ability to empathise and connect with others. I identify as a "wounded healer", drawing on my own lived experiences to foster a deeper understanding of the challenges clients may face and to provide compassionate, trauma-informed therapeutic support.

Background

I was born in Lincolnshire, England, and spent my teenage years in the United States. I returned to England in 2018, where I trained in counselling for four years.

My clinical experience began in perinatal mental health, where I provided one-to-one counselling to parents experiencing emotional and psychological difficulties during the postnatal period. I then undertook a clinical placement within a specialist organisation, providing counselling to adults affected by historical sexual abuse and incest, including clients engaging in pre-trial therapy. Across my roles, I have delivered short-, medium-, and long-term work in person, online, and over the phone.

I am a Registered Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). I am also certified in Online and Telephone Counselling.
